    Position Overview:

    The Bay Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dynamic and highly organized Event Manager to lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of all Chamber events. The Event Manager will be responsible for ensuring events are strategically aligned with the Chamber's mission to support and promote business growth in the Bay Area. The ideal candidate will possess excellent project management skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously while delivering high-quality experiences for our members and partners.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Event Planning & Execution:

    • Lead the end-to-end planning, coordination, and execution of all Chamber events, including networking events, conferences, workshops, awards ceremonies, and fundraising activities.
    • Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring all events are delivered on time and within financial parameters.
    • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, venues, and other external partners to secure services and negotiate contracts.
    • Ensure all logistical aspects of events, such as registration, catering, transportation, and audiovisual needs, are meticulously planned and executed.
    • Work closely with Chamber members, sponsors, and partners to develop event concepts that align with their needs and objectives.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all event-related inquiries, providing exceptional customer service to members and attendees.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to promote events and ensure successful participation.
    • Track and analyze event metrics to measure success and inform future event planning.
    • Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and assess event performance against objectives.
    • Prepare detailed reports on event outcomes, including financial performance and attendee satisfaction.
    • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance future events.
    • Stay informed of industry trends and best practices in event management to continuously improve the quality and impact of Chamber events.
    • Explore opportunities for new event formats, technologies, and experiences to engage members and attract new audiences.
    • Develop and maintain a network of event professionals, vendors, and service providers to support the Chamber’s event initiatives.

    Qualifications:
    • Experience in event planning and management, preferably within a nonprofit, membership-based organization, or corporate environment.
    • Proven track record of managing a diverse portfolio of events, from small gatherings to large-scale conferences.
    • Strong project management skills, with the ability to multitask and manage multiple events simultaneously.
    • Must be organized, skilled with time-management, and a self-starter.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-centric approach.
    • Proficiency Microsoft Office Suite. • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and evenings as required by event schedules.
    • Knowledge of the Bay Area business community and Chamber of Commerce operations is a plus.
