Finance Manager
Posted: 11/03/2024PRIMARY FUNCTION: Under the CEO's supervision, the Finance Manager ensures the organization has effective financial controls, reporting, and systems for growth. This role oversees, organizes, and performs professional financial activities, including budget management and advising on policies that align with the Boys & Girls Club's mission and values. Key responsibilities include managing all financial functions—accounts payable & receivable, payroll, compliance, and grant reporting. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership Implement and update financial policies, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Collaborate with Club leadership, maintain the general ledger, monitor cash, and manage financial and grant reports. Manage the preparation and analysis of all grant compliance reports as required. Strategic Planning Work with the CEO to develop the annual budget, provide financial results and recommendations, and optimize financial operations. Coordinate audits and risk management, establish banking and investment relationships. Resource Management Lead annual budgeting, monitor variances, and perform monthly/quarterly reconciliations. Ensure record compliance and manage accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and financial functions. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Uphold ethical standards, train staff on financial compliance, support budget prep, and communicate recurring issues to the CEO. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or Business. Minimum of three years in nonprofit accounting. CPA preferred, strong attention to detail, communication skills, and grant management experience. Background check required. RELATIONSHIPS Maintain external contacts with clubs, vendors, and consultants to manage costs and resolve issues.
