The Inclusive Talent Show is your stage. No talent too big or too small - whether you are ready to dazzle the audience with music, song, dance, magic, comedy, rap, group performance, acrobatics, art, martial arts, or any unique talent. Every performance is a masterpiece, and the top five competitors will receive a trophy and an amazing prize to mark this fun, exciting, and incredibly inclusive journey. We encourage individuals 14 years of age or older, with or without special needs, developmental disabilities, or mental health disorders to apply today to take center stage and experience the unforgettable opportunity to join us and truly be a part of the community by showcasing your talents on stage for a live audience at The State Theatre of Bay City on April 26th, 2025 from 1pm-4pm (ET). • If your application is approved, please note you will need to submit your entry fee of $15 per person (solo act or group acts are welcome). • Please note that performances are limited and only eligible contestant entries sent in by March 10, 2025, deadline will be reviewed and accepted to audition to perform at the event. Performance Application: • A contestant may only apply for one performance (unless applying for a solo act and part of a group act). • Performances will be held during our 1st Annual Inclusive Talent Show Fundraiser in front of a live audience at The State Theatre of Bay City, from 12 -4pm (ET) on April 26, 2025. • Contestants who live within the Great Lakes Bay Region will be invited to come to New Dimensions Office (1801 Jarman Rd., Essexville, MI for their in-person audition on either March 26th or March 28th between the hours of 2:00pm-4:00pm. (A video audition may be accepted instead of a live audition.) • The performers must attend the dress rehearsal on the morning of the show from 8-11am at the State Theatre. • After we receive your application, we will send you a confirmation email letting you know your application has been received, is being reviewed and will schedule your audition with you. If we have further questions, we will call or email you. You may be asked for a video submission of your act that you plan to perform and will require you to attend the rehearsal the morning of the event. • Once you complete your audition and are selected as a contestant to perform during the live event you will need to pay a contestant entry fee of $15.00. Entry fees should be paid by credit cards. • Please contact New Dimensions at 989-892-8883 if you would like to request other payment methods, or if you are not able to afford the entry fee, please contact us for available sponsorship options. Performance Guidelines: • All performances may be recorded. The parent/guardian/individual is required to sign a photo/video consent form. • A maximum of 4 minutes per act are allotted for the preliminary auditions/rehearsals, and a maximum of 3 minutes per act will be allotted for the final Talent Show. Your performance will be stopped at the end of the allotted time. Judging Guidelines: • The performance will be judged on 2 main criteria: • Talent / Ability (3/4 of the total score) • Showmanship / Entertainment Value (1/4 of the total score) Extra Points Given For: • Improvisation and/or Composition (creating own music or lyrics or adding improvisation to performance) • Non-musical acts (acts other than singing, dancing, or instrumental) • Group performances (2 or more members) • Combo Performance (i.e. singing & dancing) • Memorizing your performance (without using music score or reminder sheets) Other Guidelines: • A sound check can be arranged if requested. • Special equipment, props, or other items needed for performances must be brought with you. *Please be sure to include any special requests or accommodations needed in your application. * Awards & Prizes: • A total of up to 22 Performance Acts will be selected out of all eligible applications received by the deadline. All performer finalists that perform at the live event on 4/26 will receive a participation certificate for showcasing your talents. • Each of the top 3 winners will win a trophy AND an additional prize. Other Awards/Prizes: • People's Choice Award (determined by audience votes) - Receives a trophy AND an additional prize. • Best Showmanship Award - Receives a trophy AND an additional an additional prize Please note: Group acts only receive 1 trophy and prize as a group, not individually.
