The Great Lakes Bay Manufacturers Association (GLBMA), in partnership with National Manufacturing Day, is planning a full day of activities in the region on Friday, Oct. 5.

Titan Gilroy, owner of TITANS of CNC, will serve as keynote speaker during the event. Gilroy will join the GLBMA members and guests at Nexteer where he will address how to engage students and get them excited about manufacturing. Following the speech, there will be a tour of Nexteer's Plant 3. Event begins at 7:30 a.m.

Gilroy will also be speaking to local high school students at Saginaw Valley State University. Gilroy's lecture will demonstrate his passion for manufacturing and teaching young adults about the opportunities available in the field. The students will also have the opportunity to meet with local manufacturers and learn about some of the products constructed within the Great Lakes Bay Region. Event begins at 10:30 a.m.

Gilroy will tour the CNC Lab and Tech Wing at Delta College. The technical educational student will have an opportunity to visit with Gilroy and ask questions. Event starts at 1:30 p.m.

The Great Lakes Bay Manufacturers Association has been in existence since 1912. The organization is member-based and is made up of manufacturers from the Bay, Midland, Arenac, Tuscola, and Saginaw counties.
