Phase 1 of $35 million senior care project in Saginaw set to open later this summer!

Great Lakes Rehab Center, a brand new state of the art Skilled Nursing facility, is set to complete construction on the new $12 million development in the early days of September. As part of the $35 million project in the heart of Saginaw, this joint venture is made up of local health professionals who have been serving the Great Lakes Bay Region for decades. Great Lakes Rehab Center cordially invites the community at large for a Ribbon Cutting Celebration on Friday, September 22nd, 2017 at 12:30 pm.

Located on the corner of Mackinaw Road and Tittabawassee Road, across from the Covenant Hospital Mackinaw Campus, the new Skilled Nursing Facility will consist of 55 private rooms including private restrooms. The center will have more than 10,000-square feet designated to the rehabilitation center; making it the largest facility of its kind in Saginaw County. The center also boasts multiple dining options in the form of café bistros & restaurant dining with gourmet cuisine, spa areas, a cinema, beautiful landscapes, multiple themed outdoor gardens, water fountains, live garden walls, a club room, a Starbucks station and a gazebo.

Leading the way on this project is local entrepreneur and Managing Director of Comfort Care Senior Living, Hamza Sikander. When asked about the decision to invest in such a large-scale project in Saginaw County, Sikander responded “The Great Lakes Bay Region is my home, and this is where the organization has decided to extend its roots. We know the value of our community, and it was an honor partnering up with local health professionals to further extend care options to those in need across this region. We knew we had to do something special, something that no other facility is doing in the area. We look forward to welcoming everyone on September 22nd to celebrate with us, and tour this new facility”. Once the doors open, Great Lakes Rehab Center will be the largest rehab facility in Saginaw County.

Great Lakes Rehab Center recognizes the increasing number of seniors seeking comprehensive services to meet their health care needs. All team members at Great Lakes Rehab Center will receive ongoing training and education to provide the latest health care techniques and highest quality of service. The organization understands the stress that families go through when having to choose a rehabilitation facility for their loved ones on short notice. With years of experience, the organization has prioritized the family needs while undergoing difficult and frustrating times. Great Lakes Rehab Center is one more positive step in easing a families’ decision by offering a comfortable state of the art skilled nursing facility.

In addition to the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Friday, September 22nd, 2017 at 12:30 pm, Great Lakes Rehab Facility will also host a series of open houses. The first opportunity to view the facility will take place on Wednesday, September 20th, 2017 between the hours of 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm. This will give the public a sneak peek into the new facility prior to the Ribbon Cutting two days later. The second open house will take place on Friday, September 22nd, 2017 between the hours of 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm after the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. All events are open to the public, so we hope to see you all there!

Future Direction.
Phase one of this senior care development will only cover a portion of the 15 + acre parcel. Planning and development is already set in motion on the remaining portions for future developments. Within the next few years, the organization expects to expand the parcel into a health care campus. In addition to the Great Lakes Rehab Center, the public can expect to see developments of a senior living facility, medical office spaces, and pharmacy. These are just a few of the possibilities that could fill the space.
